Food of the Future, Edible Landscape design and food forests for the urban and suburban yard.
Niching Contest Participant Comments:
I like the epic and would love to be addressed in a more relatable way. This sounds great but I’m not sure what you will do for me or with me.
8/10: This is an increasingly popular issue here in the UK, but I am not clear Amelya if you create them, advise and design, or photograph them. . . so a verb in there would be helpful to me.
7/10: Who’s your target?
Very intrigued but only because I know what an edible landscape is. 10 years ago, you would have lost me.
7/10: So. . . do you “do” yards – design and installation? Or do you “just” design yardscapes? Or do you “just” instruct? That “what” aspect needs clarity. Are you restricted by geography? Will you travel? Will you come to my house and tell me where to plant what, and when to plant it?
9/10: Nice and clear.
I want to become an Edible Landscape next to an Urban Forest just because of my intrigue with the idea of a moveable feast and desparate housewives. Too many beautiful words that fly like poetry recited in a subway!
10/10: This provides such an amazing mental image of what could be achieved by working with you.
7/10: I am really intrigued by your niche and I know I want an edible landscape and a food forest:) why are you so passionate about this niche? Who have you already helped and how? I think adding text about the people who want this would be good, for example I have food allergies and really am careful about where my food comes from. . . I love being able to grow my own, also I am a designer so beauty and functionality is the best of both worlds!
9/10: I like it.
6/10: What is an edible landscape and food forest? And why might I want one?
8/10: Agree with the previous comments. What is your role in the process? Who is your customer?
8/10: I like this, but want to know how/if you help me to create an edible landscape, or if you provide/plant them.
8/10: The yards aren’t buying your product. People are. Are these people who are gardeners? Who are just starting out? Are they not garden people at all, but they WANT a garden?
10/10: I know lots of people who want exactly this.
Amelya Cohn’s Reflections:
I think edible landscape and food forest is self explanatory a forest that produces food. . . why someone would want one is something I can work on and what I do in the process is important. Thanks for the feedback. This helps me lots.
