Tad’s Comments:

2. Right now this is a 2/10 for me. The clearest part is the ‘how’ you do what you do: ‘relaxation and mindfulness techniques’. And that’s fairly broad. There are so many schools of thought on mindfulness, so many books and so many teachers – and I’m not sure which one yours is. The ‘who’ is also very broad ‘people of all ages’ = everyone alive on the planet. The problem you’re solving is ‘the difficulties in their lives’ which could be anything. So I’m left with knowing you are a relaxation and mindfulness coach of sorts but without much sense of how you fit into the larger marketplace.

Niching Contest Participant Comments:

4/10: “People of all ages” = everyone, which is not a niche. The difficulties of my life today are significantly different from what they were 30 years ago, and my elderly father-in-law is having difficulties I’ve never had to face. Your process may be universally helpful, but almost everyone can say that about their work.

5/10: I love your message, the tranquility of your photo and what you want to help people with..on the niching side though, people of all ages is not really a niche. “Difficulties” is really general too. I hope Tad will have some awesome tips for you that can get you to niche down so you can speak to you those who need you like you’re right there with them…it will be amazing for them once you do. All the best!

4/10: The people you are targeting here is way too broad and generic. ie: you’re targeting everyone. This isn’t a niche. “Difficulties” is way too general as well.

7/10: The “how” of what you are doing is clear to me, but “people of all ages” and “difficulties” are both very broad terms so I can’t immediately imagine who I’d refer to you. Is there a group you’d prefer to work with, or specific challenges that you’ve helped people with in the past and are really good at supporting?

2/10: It is too abstract and I’m not sure who you help or why and what happens afterwards for them. ‘People’ and ‘all ages’ is way too broad. Who would you love to work with? How would you help them specifically. Would they pay for that? Unless this is a hobby I urge you to go back to the drawing board and answer those questions.
