Tad’s Comments:

Right now, this is a solid 6. What’s clear is what you do – foot reflexology. What separates you from other foot reflexologists isn’t clear. Now, if the geography you’re based in is a small enough population base, this may be a non-issue. This may be as clear as you need to be but if you were to hone in one particular symptom (e.g. headaches, fatigue) or a particular group of people (e.g. buddhists, vegans, single moms) etc. it would allow even more focus and clarity. What you do is clear. How you do it and for whom is fuzzy for me.

Niching Contest Participant Comments:

8.5 – First thing I did was check whether you might live in my neck of the woods (or foot of the woods?) – so that’s a good sign! Love “souls of your feet”. I had the same question as Liz, but I can understand your response, too. (I love the image, because most of us don’t enjoy having feet in our face(s), so it really stands out)

5 – I actually really like what you’ve written, and how you’ve presented it, but it’s not a very clear niche. I get that you do reflexology, and that you work to heal people on every level. That is incredibly broad! It definitely communicates your modal.

5 – I actually really, really like your image and wording of things. I’m just left wondering what, in particular, is your niche among others who practice reflexology. Still, if searching for reflexology treatment, I’d certainly look you up based on this “ad!”

8 – Nice tag line and nice use of the word “soul” in place of “sole.” Would like to know if you have a specific target audience for your work, or just all of us with feet?! 🙂

8 – I really, really like it, and yet something is missing – not sure what. I would use the soles of the feet in the image, I think. Maybe that is the only change I would make.

8.5 – So much about this poster is enticing Jo. From what you have said there is just a little ‘something’ about how you work that is missing. I like it a lot.

9 – love the photo, the message, the words!!! Very clear and I love that I see you at the end of my feet . . .

7 – I like the word play, for sure. And the feet surrounding you is cute. I like that you are both “spiritual” and playful. I’d love to hear more about one aspect of how you can affect mind, body & spirit through feet.

7 – I really like what you’ve written – it’s clear and clever (“souls of your feet.”) But I think I’d agree with what some of the others are saying – what sets you apart? And, I’m sorry to say that I don’t really like all the feet in the image. I might opt for using a clipart version of a foot in a logo, using your “The Foot Lady” line. I found this site to help illustrate what I mean.https://stocklogos.com/category/feet

8 – I find it clear what you do, and I like the term “foot lady.” In order to refer someone to you, I would need more information on what problems you deal with. I guess more than just “pain in the foot.”

Jo Vernon’s Reflections:

Thanks, good feedback and yes, I think I could refine it. I don’t really have a niche market as such, all feet are welcome. But, there are areas of health I am really interested in, so if I was going to do something like this as a marketing campaign, I could re-word to reflect that. I think I am trying to convey that I look at and treat people and their feet holistically, not just from a physical perspective. (Some reflexologists look purely at physical presentation and use a strictly medical/clinical model of treatment). I wonder how else I could have said this without sounding too generic.
