Michael. This is a solid 7 for me. Which is enough to move strongly forward with.

What’s clear is that you offer astrological readings. Got it.

The result you offer “taking their destiny in their own hands” sounds a bit boiler plate and generic to me. Sounds like a platitude and doesn’t mean much to me.

But! “Finding meaning and healing in trauma” jumped out at me. What I like that you’ve done here is that you’ve identified not only the problem (trauma) but also taken a deeper cut at it – how they feel about it. Implied in that phrase is the reality that many people experience around trauma “why the hell did this happen?” So much confusion. So many people feel as though trauma has thrown their whole world into chaos. Even worse than that – that the universe is no longer a safe place to be. That there is no order at all. And then the paranoia vs. the pronoia (the notion that the universe is constantly conspiring for our good).

If you cut this down to “astrology for those who want find meaning and healing in trauma” it would actually feel clearer. You could, of course, expand on this and hone in on more particular elements, but, for me, I’d get it enough to know what questions to ask.

An even more direct wording would be “I help people find meaning and healing in trauma through astrology.”

And maybe it could also be “I help people find meaning and healing in trauma and transform it into a gift for the community through astrology.” You get the idea.

It’s a beautiful thing you’re offering Michael. Thank you for offering it.

Niching Contest Participant Comments:

8/10: I like it, it’s specific. Lots of people need to heal trauma and this is a new angle on it. 8 just because I’m not your target group.

10/10: I love this.

7/10: I like how empowering this sounds. I am very curious how astrology can offer healing from trauma. I will give it a 7 as destiny feels like future and trauma sounds like past and so it seems like maybe you are addressing 2 different groups/niches. I think it would flow better and tied the 2 together if perhaps you wrote the “meaning and healing (from) trauma” before “and take destiny into their own hands.”

9/10:  Finding meaning and healing “IN” trauma still catches me up. I think subconsciously it makes me think I have to revisit and hang out in the trauma to heal. . . which doesn’t sound appealing. . . could you say “from” instead?

7/10: I’m quite clearly not in your niche. . . It’s clear that you work with people who feel somewhat empowered already (“take destiny in their own hands” – this is just not resonating with me at all) but I think the last phrase needs some wordsmithing. . . “find meaning and healing in trauma” suggests that they re-explore the trauma and use it to heal. Perhaps you mean “find meaning in – and healing from – trauma”.
