Tad’s Comments:

I’d give this a solid 7. Transformation professionals is, I’m assuming, code for life coaches, holistic practitioners, healers etc? The core result you’re offering is to “expand their reach.” And I find myself wondering expand their reach so that what might happen? Is that the end goal? Why do they want to expand their reach? Is it to make more money? And what kind of writing do they usually do? Sales pages? Home pages? Books? All of it?

Niching Contest Participant Comments:

8 – Engaging, friendly, beautiful photo!

7 – I really want to like this better than I do! It feels to me like you are close, but not quite there. Too many statements I have to interpret. “Transformation professions” I have to think about, though I’m guessing you mean people who are helping others transform their lives through some kind of therapy or other work? ”Expand their reach” is another part I have to guess at . . . reach more people? Have more impact? Both? And are you helping them reach just anyone? A specific audience? “Improving the clarity and resonance of their writing” is clear to me and makes me go, oh, I know what this is now. More specific could be even better . . . As a whole, I feel attracted by the work that I “imagine” you do, but I think a more impactful statement could represent it better.

7 – I can see you help improve writing, and expand marketing, but not sure what transformation professionals are. Maybe too many jargony words.

5 – I’m not sure exactly who transformation professionals are, what they will achieve by expanding their reach, or exactly how you help them improve. Do you edit? Coach? Teach a course? Also, I’m not clear how the picture relates to what you do.

8 – I understand who it is for because I’m a “transformation professional,” but I’d like a little more clarity on what exactly you do. Is it writing for the website? Blog? Marketing materials?

8 – It feels powerful, but also very unspecific in terms of “who” is included under “transformation professional.”

8 – I feel like I know who but not fully clear on what writing you work on with people. I love your image too.

8 – Great message. I would have liked to see your photo though, the photo on your website homepage is lovely. When I see the person, I can then feel a connection with them and think, yes, I would love to work with that person. (Have not been very good at doing this myself though until very recently the photo thing that is). I think your home page says it perfectly too, ‘Helping those professionals create timeless written works that resonate for decades or more” Love it.

7 – I’m not sure what a transformation professional is . . . but sounds interesting! Do you help them get more clients? Become renowned thought leaders? Best wishes to you!

8 – Though I’m not 100 percent certain who “transformation professionals” are, I have a sense of it . . . and sense they’d hear their name called in reading this. Really like your area of focused support – and am guessing it’s a type of support that many “transformation professionals” are needing. Also just really appreciate your writing and word choice, which, given your niche, sure is important!

9 – I really like this. I like the colour, how the image and text are balanced and I know what you do. But I was a bit thrown by the “transformational professionals” wording even though I think I know what you mean (coaches, trainers, etc.)  And, actually, I wouldn’t know what else to call them so yay for coming up with a term that sums it up.

9 – This is clear to me.

6 –  I don’t actually know what a transformation professional is. I also don’t know what kind of writing you mean. Marketing copy? Or novel writing? I love the photo and the way it’s laid out. Your website URL is a bit invisible.

5 – What kind of professionals? Age? What adjectives would you use to describe them? And what kind of writing? Copy? Websites? Novels? I love learning about copywriting, so I would love to hear more!

8 – Everything is clear, except the “transformation professionals.” Maybe just using terms like “coaches,” “change management professionals.” “Improving the clarity and resonance . . .” very much resonates with me, so keep that. I also find it very targeted, that you focus on writing. At the same time it is clear, or at least I’m interpreting it into it that your help would improve all my communications. good job, keep it up!

7 – Transformation professionals sounds a bit jargonistic – do you mean healers/coaches etc. And by expand their reach I assume you mean marketing / audience? Great image, but you could make the words a little clearer. 🙂

Sarah Chauncey’s Reflections:

Thank you, I agree with all your comments! I’m really not a copywriter (they specialize in short, punchy positioning phrases.) My ultimate goal is to serve people who are helping to heal the world, through personal/spiritual/cultural transformation (as we become more aware, we also see what needs rebalancing in terms of social change.) My preference is long form writing and book doctoring (books/articles/ebooks), but I haven’t found a way to succinctly include that. I’m still looking for a better phrase that captures the full range, but for now . . . this is what I’ve got. Also, I’m not keen on the phrase “transformation professionals” but it’s such a broad range (from mindfulness coaches to frontier scientists) that I couldn’t fit it into the space.
